Q: How to Add Echo FX to Audio in Sony Vegas?

Answer: Add "Simple Delay" Audio Fx to your Audio Layer or individual clip on the timeline.

There are two simple ways to apply any Audio Fx.
Either directly to the entire Audio Layer which will effect everything on that layer or to an Individual clip or sound byte within the layer.

The fastest way to show you how to do this is by following along with the following screen shots.

Step One:

echo audio fx 1

Applying to Entire Track Layer

echo audio fx 2

Applying to Individual Piece of Media

Step Two:

echo audio fx 4

If you press Track Fx Icon in the Track Description Box, this is the next window that appears.
These first three Audio Fx are always applied by Default in Vegas.
To Apply Additional Audio Fx plugins, please press Track Fx Icon that Blue Arrow is pointed to.

Step Three:

echo audio fx 5

To add "Echo" to your Audio Layer, please select "Simple Delay", then press ADD and OK

Step Four:

echo audio fx 6

Adust the Slider anyway you like or simply Open the Drop Down Box and Select a Preset Template

Derek... The problem that i am having all started recently. Even though I have used my Sony Vegas Platinum 11 as always in good standing. I use it nearly every day. But rather suddenly my ' Plug-In chooser - Audio Event FX has stopped fully showing it's menu select options. For example if I hit Reverb then hit Add. Then the menu goes away and will not come back on. I did format the program back to it original default setting. That is not work. So I completely uninstalled the program and reinstalled it and found no changes. What do I do not to get the audio FX menu to again work right...? Hope you can make a good suggestion....

  It sounds like a part Windows has become corrupted and is affecting the program.
  .NET Framework can often cause windows to not work properly.
  If you are using a really old computer, you may need to re-install Windows, which will give you a clean slate.
  Old programs become more difficult to maintain as new Windows and Drivers are released.
  I really don't have a black and white answer for you.

Any help?
Every time I try to open the plugin chooser for sfx, i crash.
Also, I open up the video fx tab and there's lots of unnamed vfx; every time I click on them, they crash me

  Which Operating System are you using?
  Which program and build version are you using?
  Go to Help/About to find this info.
  The first thing I suggest you do, is perform a full program reset. This will return all settings back to factory defaults and clean the temporary files cache. Instructions on how to reset here:

  After the reset, go to Options/Preferences/Audio Device
  Set Audio Device Type = Windows Classic Wave Driver
  Now check to see if SFX are working now.

Hay, i can't seem to get this open. Every time i click track FX, it brings me to this folder with only 12 plugins i think they are. Not sure. Any Help?

  Most of the Audio FX are linked from Sound Forge Audio Studio 10, which only comes with the Suite version of Movie Studio. Sound Forge Audio Studio is an extra program that comes with the Suite and is an Audio Editor. All of it's FX show in Movie Studio as well.

  If you have bought any version of Movie Studio Platinum Suite, you will have Sound Forge Audio Studio on your installation disc.
