Solved Glitch in custom menu: how to fix it?

Glitch in custom menu: how to fix it? was created by ISNorden

I recently created a custom menu with the same still-picture background and 32 seconds of (supposedly) looping music on every page. Within DVD Architect, I can navigate the menu normally. However, a preview (or the test disc I burned; PM me for a download link) shows a bizarre error. The page background appears by itself for 32 seconds as the music plays only once; then the remaining content appears. I suspect that I used loop points incorrectly, but don't know how to fix the mistake. Could you please check my screenshots and test image, to help me solve the problem? Many thanks!

Hi ISNorden

Welcome to the MSZ Forum.
Can you please send me a copy of your DVD Architect Project file .dar
This file is very tiny and does not contain any actual video, but it will show me all your settings.
Email to help@moviestudiozen.com

Regards
Derek

I can't attach files to messages here (the site gives me a "403 -- Forbidden" error when I try). So I'm uploading the .dar file to my Sendspace account --

www.sendspace.com/file/3azntc

Hope this works!

I was able to attach your .dar file OK to your own message.
To attach a file, press Add File and select file, then do nothing else. Press SUBMIT when you have finished writing message.
It may have been a server glitch?

You can easily fix your problem.
#1. You had a loop point set at 30 seconds. This meant that all your Menus did NOT appear until your background audio reached the 30 second mark.
Drag green line back to Zero.
(looks different, because I had to add my own files into your project for testing)

#2. Make sure your Menu Audio file is the exact length you want it to last for.
So if you want it to loop after 30 seconds, make the audio 30 seconds.

#3. To make any Menu loop at the end of audio file playback, first press Menu background area.
Then go to Menu Page Properties/End Action - set Command = Loop.
Do this for each separate Menu page you have, so that includes Menu 1, Scene Index Pages 1, 2, 3 & 4.

That's it :cheer:

I'll give it a shot, especially since you confirmed my suspicion about loops. (DVD Architect is still new to me; I have to relearn the way some functions work differently from the ones in my old program.) If everything works out, I'll post a picture of the results.

EDIT: the corrections worked, but I still get the 403 error when I try to attach files here. It must be because I'm a newbie.... *sigh*

I'm glad you got your problem fixed :)

I have no problems in attaching files and nobody else on the forum does either.
I looked up the server logs to see what was causing your 403 error and the server was blocking your upload because it detected Malware injection.
It sounds like you have malware installed on your own computer and are not aware of it.
If you have a Virus Protection program running, you should do a scan immediately.

When you upload a file, it must have a simple name like myfile.dar and not contain any forwards slashes or back slashes. Special characters are not permitted in file uploads and may also cause false positives for malware.
