Idea Can anyone recommend a home-class printer that prints on printable DVDs well?
Can anyone recommend a home-class printer that prints on printable DVDs well? was created by MrDOS
Posted 24 Aug 2018 05:12 #1 I was unable to find anything in the search area, so forgive me if this is a frequent topic. I'd like to replace my old HP laser printer at home, and it would be nice to have the capability to print on printable DVDs as well. Quantities will typically be less than 10.
I cannot seem to find any real world user comments on the subject.
Thanks!

Posted 24 Aug 2018 10:42 #2 I print a lot of DVDs and Blu-ray discs each year.
The printer I have been using for last 4 years is Canon MG6250.
I don't know what the latest model is, that is equivalent to this, but this Canon printer has been very, very good.
Just remember this tip !!!
The cheaper printers often have the most expensive ink cartridges, with tiny ink volumes.
It's best to find a mid-range printer that uses ink cartridges that don't cost their weight in gold.
Once you have narrowed down some models, make sure to check which model ink cartridges they use.
Then go to one of the BIG generic ink cartridge suppliers in your country, and make sure they sell the "generic" version ink tanks for your printer.
Also check many review sites.

Derek

Posted 25 Aug 2018 00:08 #3 Hi MrDOS,
I use an Epson Artisan 1430. You certainly don't need anything this large (maximum paper size 13"x19"), but they make other models for printing 8.5"x11". The Epson uses Claria Hi Definition inks. I have been very happy with it for both photo printing and DVD/Blu Ray disc printing.
