Hi Andy

So according to the quick research I just did, your Canopus / Grass Valley ADVC-110 Advanced Digital Video Converter should be able to record directly into Movie Studio Platinum 12 if you use the Capture Plugin. Other users on Amazon are reporting that this is the workflow they have been using and it works.
Go to Project - Capture Video, to start process.
I have zero experience with using the capture plugin, so I am unable to help past this point.
You can read the Sony Help file within Movie Studio Platinum 12 or read articles on the Sony Creative Software website.

I am working on the Colour Correction tutorial at this very moment.
It is taking a lot longer to complete than I expected. I am fairly confident it will be uploaded by tomorrow.
I think Colour Correction will be the most important step in what you are doing.
