I opened a short film edited on Version 10 to burn another copy of that - but it came up 'Architect is not installed' again, even though those two discs with Version 13 had burned ok.
What type of file did you open ?
Are you talking about a .vf Movie Studio project file OR are you talking about a .dar DVD Architect file ?
If you are talking about a .vf project file, I suggest you open it with Movie Studio Platinum 13 and stop trying to use Movie Studio Platinum 10.
Movie Studio Platinum 10 was the worst version of Movie Studio ever released and contained many bugs that were never fixed.
To get DVD Architect shortcut icon installed on your Desktop, do this.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\DVD Architect Studio 5.0
In the list of files you will find one that says: dvdarchst50.exe and it will have the DVDA icon next to it.
Right-click and select send to Desktop.
You will now be able to boot the program up from the desktop.
If you want to start completely over, you need to do a FULL CLEAN INSTALL of all your Sony Programs, as I have suggested.
This is how to do a true clean install of all your Sony programs on Windows 7.

If it was me, I would stop using V10 of Movie Studio and open ALL your files with V13.
