Burned a Blu-Ray! Hints for those enduring problems. was created by tyee

Sucessfully burned a Blu-Ray this evening after dozens of failures, ironically at different parts of the project.

Here is what I learned:

• Make sure you have the correct format chosen, i.e. NTSC 1080i, 29 fps (sic)

• Make sure you have large Paging Files. For whatever reason, I discovered that I had zero paging
files installed! Installed the max on my primary and secondary drives.

• After a dozen or so failures, I finally deselected the GPU acceleration on the video tab of project properties, removing
my Nvidia Quadro 600 card from the equation.

Not too bad for this worn out Septuagenarian. Tomorrow with re-attack the thorny issue of DVD Architect and menus!

Hi tyee

Thanks for the info you provided here.
For some reason I missed your message here when you originally posted it.

I have always been aware of the GPU problem and knew about that tip when making DVDs and Blu-ray.

What I have never considered is Paging File size.
Because I am using a powerful computer with plenty of memory, this has never been something I have had to worry about.
However for people using laptops with only 4GBs or less of RAM installed, I can see that this is extremely important advise to follow.
In fact I have had a couple of people very recently with problems making DVDs. I think the Paging File size may be the missing piece of the puzzle.
So thanks once again :!:

For anyone that may read this in the future, here is a link to an article that explains how to change your Paging File size in Windows.

Cheers :)
