System totally down (8.1) crashed. Can't recover. Motherboard 6 years old. Time for new MB and win 10? Hardware suggestions? New sys? Appreciate your thoughts.

Sorry for the delay in responding to your message.

I have experienced computer problems myself for the last week - my Graphics Card blew up!
I think it had been going bad for a long time, so was difficult to diagnose until it finally shit itself.
I wasted huge amounts of time trying to work out what was wrong.

I would definitely recommend Windows 10 for a new computer build.
I am very interested in the new AMD Ryzen CPUs which have just been released - they are less than half the price on equivalent Intel CPUs, but have plenty of processing power. All manufacturers have released a good range of supporting Motherboards, for the new AMD Ryzen chipset.

Yes I am using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14 - I will be uploading a review this week.
