The article linked below may be of interest here as it recalls some past history of Vegas NLE. The author of that article was a director at Sonic Foundry (1998-2003) and Sony/SCS (2003-2016, as of 2013 Director of World Wide Marketing).

This is a great story to read about the development of Vegas Pro.
I highly recommend all Vegas nerds read this :)
