Closed Captioning in Vegas Movie Studio was created by Dash

Hi All,
I've had a request to add closed captioning to my videos. I am using Vegas Movie Studio 14 and was wondering if there is a plugin that would do it for me. If not, does Vegas Pro have that capability? I have done a little checking on the web and I think it does, but I am not really certain if I am understanding correctly the capabilities they are describing.

Thanks.

Hi Dash

You will need Vegas Pro 16 to create Closed Captions.
To add Closed Captions to Vegas Pro is a very time consuming and slow process.
There is a 3rd party plugin you can buy from VAAST called Caption Assistant - it costs $299.
Caption Assistant is extremely powerful and makes creating Closed Captions easy to do.

If you want to do something that is less difficult and costs no money, you could create Subtitles instead, like what is used on YouTube.
I use a free program called Subtitle Edit.

Subtitle Edit gives you the ability to play back your video and add Subtitles as the video plays.
You can then export an .SRT file which is compatible with most videos.

Thanks Derek.
Great info, as usual.
Checked into both and I am truly not sure what direction, if any, I am going to be able to go.
Both are great options, and further study will be needed on my part, but I hope to do one or
the other if time will permit. I do one 30 min show a week and that take a good deal of time
on it's own.
I'll get back later with the outcome.
Thanks again, Doctor Zen!
