No video footage when editing and rendering, only audio... was created by matthew0725
Posted 26 Jun 2019 11:33 #1 I'm using a bit of an older version (Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12), but they seem to be functionally the same based off of the tutorials I've seen. I'm putting together a movie that has about 15 video clips. When I'm adding the media to my project, it works fine. But then, towards the end, when I'm adding the last couple clips, the preview screen suddenly goes black and I lose any video. It's not just for those added videos, from that point on, ALL of the clips in my project are black, and when I'm playing the movie, there is only audio. When I render the project and make the movie, it's one long black movie with audio alone.
I don't know what's happening, or why it won't let me add all of my media clips to this project and complete it. I've been restarting the program over and over. This isn't upon importing the media, it's when adding it to my project for editing. Any thoughts anyone?

If you have been using Vegas Movie Studio on the same computer for a long time, you will find that the Temporary Files Cache will build up with a large amount of "garbage" files that can become corrupted.
Resetting Vegas will clean the cache and restore ALL settings in the program back to their factory defaults. Doing just this may fix your problem.
Instructions for reset here:
www.moviestudiozen.com/doctor-zen-faq/573-how-to-reset-sony-software-to-default-settings#a1
Please report back if this works.
If it does not work, we need to have a closer look at your .vf Project File
Also make sure your haven't accidentally turned on the Overlay button above the Preview Window.
It should be turned OFF when not in use.
Regards
Derek

âšī¸ Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.
