How do I hide the gray text in MS 17?

It's only there when you are working on the text and shows you the text area.  Click on another timeline event to take the focus there and it should disappear.

One more question: After I have 'Time Stretched' a group of pics: how do I ungroup them?
(And get rid of the squiggly lines seen in each pic.)

Select all.  Right click on one.  Select Group then Clear.

BUT it won't remove the squiggly lines which have nothing to do with grouping.  They are telling you the clip has its playspeed sped up or slowed down.
