I wanted to slow down an audio track a little bit. So I decided to use "elastique Timestretch" effect. It is a very useful feature and it works well. But there is one problem. After applying it to any audio track it's volume level increases by 2-4 Db, so it creates clipping effect. Is it possible to automatically eliminate (or at least mitigate) this issue?
For now the only solution I could think of is tentatively to reduce the volume level of a track by ~3 Db and then apply "elastique Timestretch" effect.

Hello Igator

I have never heard of that happening before and not sure what would be causing it.
Your current solution sounds like the best idea to fix it.

There could be something weird going on with your audio drivers - that is about the only thing I can think of.
Go to Options / Preferences / Audio Device
Try switching Audio Device Type = Windows Classic Wave Driver

Which exact version of Vegas are you using ?
Which build version do you have installed ?
Go to Help / About to find this info.

How are you applying Elastique Timestretch ?
1. Right-click audio file, go to Properties and turn on Elastique Timestretch ?
OR
2. Adding Elastique Timestretch Audio FX to entire Audio Track, using Fx button in track control box ?
OR
3. Adding Elastique Timestretch Audio FX to Fx button inside of Audio file on Timeline ?

Regards
Derek
