Solved Vegas Pro 13 and 14 offer
Hi Guys,
So how do you all read this offer:
www.magix.com/index.php?id=22799&L=52&utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=mail&utm_campaign=US_25_vcs_intro3&utm_content=vegas14
Am I correct in thinking those with Movie Studio versions are able to up grade to Pro for US$200
Peter

HI Peter,
I got the offer via e-mail. Will upgrade my Vegas Pro 12 to 13, so I can get the "Free" Vegas Pro 14 offer (hopefully, won't be like the Microsoft Windows 10 'forced' upgrade  - do like Windows 10, just not their tactics). But from what I see in both my e-mail and the link you provided, is for the Pro version. Maybe Eagle Six, hans, or our own Dr. Zen might have some other input on this. I know I will upgrade the machine to 13 later this month, but got to get all the bills sent out from the retirement check first.
Good Luck.

Hi Mike and Peter
I wish I was getting these emails from MAGIX !!!
For some reason, which no one has a clue about at Magix, not everyone got transferred from the SCS email list to Magix email list.
Can either one of you email a carbon copy of this email to me please
help@moviestudiozen.com
This seems like an amazing offer!
There is no mention of having to prove you own an older version of Vegas Pro or Movie Studio.
So it looks like anyone can buy Vegas Pro 13 now and get Vegas Pro 14 later - incredible!

Derek, I don't get emails from news@vegas.magix.net either, but the following link has been given on several othert forums

I sent an email to Magix last week, asking about why I haven't received a single email from them.
It's extremely frustrating, since people are normally asking me for the latest info.
I actually had TWO emails subscribed to the old Sony Newsletter list, to make sure I always got news on the latest deals.
You would logically think that everyone who was on the old Sony list, should be receiving Magix emails.
This is the message I got back from Magix:
"At the moment there has been a few small batches of emails that have gone out and many more are going out in stages explaining the new direction things are heading. Unfortunately I have no way to check if you where in that batch of emails."
I am going to message them again on Monday, because it shouldn't be that difficult.
I would like to know what criteria they are using, for who get's emails?
I'll have to get one of the forum members to help me out, so I don't miss anything.

Thank you for getting that as I, too, have heard nothing (I live in London, have been with Vegas since version 6 and have always received the usual general issue e-mails and newsletters from Sony Vegas). I should be grateful if you could keep us all in the link after you chase them up again.
Good to have you back.

My intuition tells me they are being USA-centric and using the country they have on file to determine who gets what.

As vkmast has pointed out, from the many post I have been following on the SCS, CCOW, DVInfo forums and here at MSZ, it appears users in North America are receiving emails, in other countries not so much, if any yet.
I have also read a couple posts that report the Vegas Pro 13 purchase deal at $199 USD including free Vegas Pro 14 does not require a validation of a previous version of Vegas Pro. I don't know that for a fact, only read that.
If so, I would think, it would be a good deal for Vegas Pro previous version users, and a great deal for Movie Studio users wanting to upgrade to Vegas Pro, and a super great deal for anyone who hasn't user either Movie Studio or Vegas Pro, but would like to start using Vegas Pro.
I already have Vegas Pro 13, so I'm waiting for the release of 14, or a deal announcing the upgrade from version 13 to 14 direct.

Hi all forum members.
I did some digging the other day at Magix.com and found a sub-website called MAGIX Magazine located here:
magazine.magix.com/en/
I just went back and discovered a new announcement dated 1 July 2016.
magazine.magix.com/en/sony-product-takeover/#comment-299491
It is an FAQ concerning Sony product takeover and was posted by Duc Trinh from their Social Media Marketing team.
I have posted an open letter under his/her post, asking for an investigation into the random nature of their email program for Sony users. Hopefully this will generate an intelligent response - I will wait and see. If I can't get a proper answer as to what is going on, it does not give me a good feeling about the future with Magix. I truly don't understand why only a select few are being kept in the loop. It's rare for me to get angry over anything these days, but this situation is starting to make my blood boil. I shouldn't have to be hearing news second hand, especially after the money, time and energy I have invested into Sony Software. By my count, I have now missed at least 4 extremely important announcements and the more I investigate, the more people I find who are being treated the same.
Regards
Dr Zen

Agreeing totally with you here, Derek.
I understand George is getting those emails ATM, so maybe he'll be the person to help you/us, until MAGIX gets its email act together?
