Solved Cannot remove solid black background in text generator

I cannot create text with transparent background it's always coming out black. I can change text colour but not background. I have reinstalled Vegas 13 Pro having deleted all leftover files as you suggest but it is still creating text with a black background.

Thanks in advance Derek

Hi

First make sure you have reset the program - this will make sure you have not turned on a setting by accident.
Follow these instructions here:
www.moviestudiozen.com/doctor-zen-faq/573-how-to-reset-sony-software-to-default-settings

Make sure your Text is always placed on a video track above all other tracks.

Make sure to start with this option at Step 1.
When you get to step 3, open Advanced.
Step 4 shows the controls for background colour/transparency.
Click on top of checker-board.

Make sure this is dragged to ZERO - this is now set to 100% transparency.

Regards
Derek

And if you want to change the background colour, see what happens when you choose something other than zero (last pic above) and use the colour picker, type colour values, or use the eyedropper to sample a colour from your screen. Try also muting your video event on the track below (right-click on it, Switches, Mute) to see what you'd get.
