Re-sampling is another thing I knew nothing about. Once again Derek is my source of knowledge.

My current project is to produce a DVD from an off-air VHS recording from 1998. I didn't really expect to see a change but disabling re-sampling definitely gives a smoother, clearer playback.

Another setting to keep in mind when working with VHS to DVD, is Reduce Interlace Flicker.
If you see any strange artifacts or strobing, turning this setting on can help.
Go to Switches - Reduce Interlace Flicker.
