Hi Derek, I guess I am a bit of a stranger to this forum as I have been away from it for a while. However, I keep getting these MAGIX offers sent every so often for me to upgrade from VEGAS Pro 14 (64Bit) to VEGAS Pro 16. I have a little used SONY AX100E and an HDR-AS200V action cam. This year we hope to get away and do more holiday trips and video our journeys. Do I gain much from upgrading to Pro 16? I am mostly interested in Blu-ray picture quality, render times, & stabilization. Also on that question of stabilization I also have Mercalli & Prodrenalin 2. My needs are somewhat more simple than the Pro video editor so I question the purchase, can you help me in this query.

Although there are many new features that have been added to versions 15 and 16 of Vegas Pro, the No.1 item that is significantly different in Vegas Pro 16 is the rendering engine.

If you have a modern Nvidia or AMD Radeon graphics card, Vegas Pro now has the MAGIX AVC encoder/decoder, which can now take full advantage of the processing power of your graphics card. This means up to 2x or more faster rendering times and better play back performance in the Preview Window.

If you want to discover ALL the new features that have been added to Vegas Pro 15 and 16 over the last 2 years, I recommend reading the release notes for v15 and v16.
In the release notes I have listed ALL new features and bug fixes - the lists are very long.

Read from the bottom of page first and then move up. It will make sense when you go to these pages.
