Solved What is the best format to record in for YouTube?
Hi all,
I always record in Sony AVCHD 1080 50i and I have always found that this works perfect for Blu-ray.
....but now I have started to put all my videos on to YouTube.
So my question is what should my camera settings be set to?
What’s best for YouTube. Should I avoid 1080 50i and have 25p or 50p?
Thanks

Posted 06 Jan 2020 00:34 #2 If you have already recorded video using 1080-50i, you can render this in Vegas to 25p and that will work on YouTube.
When you are recording new videos, you can record at 1080-25p or 1080-50p for YouTube and render to the exact same settings your video was recorded with.
For everyday video, most people would still use 1080-25p.
1080-25p is more suited if you like the "film look".
If you are recording fast moving scenes like sport and want to maintain a nice sharp image, 1080-50p is a much better setting to use.
1080-50p also looks more "hyper-real" if you like that look.

Thank you!
Is it true that 50p needs more work to render?

Posted 06 Jan 2020 06:47 #450p is twice the frame rate of 25p, so yes it requires more time to render.Virdi wrote: Is it true that 50p needs more work to render?
