Is Boris Particle Illusion Standalone just another Boris "clickbait" freebie? Or is there any way to render a transparent background!

No it's definitely not a clickbait program.
It is a full standalone program.

I have not had time to experiment with it, but if you open it up yourself and go to the Render window, you will see that Alpha channel is available.

:idea: Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.

I found "my" answer in the VEGAS Chroma Keyer in Video FX ... can't believe I spent so much time trying to make it a "simple" operation.

This does!

All my previous experiments/combinations work (mov, mp4, 422, 444 etc)

Still need to select the Alpha channel in VP 18.

Whoo! Hoo! Easy ... now for some fun!
