Solved Vegas Pro 19 build 532 audio missing
Tech summary
I recorded a video, using a sony camcorder in 1440 x 1080 called training.mts, there was a background hiss that I was able to remove using
Sound forge Audio Studio ver 12.6 build 12.6.0.361. I previewed the audio edited "giving feedback" file using vlc media player and the hiss was removed. Great!
I then tried to further edit in Sound forge Audio Studio ver 15 build 121 and Vegas Pro 19 build 532. In both the programs the audio track did not import into the media editors. Question How do I get the audio to import into Vegas Pro 19?
Here is media info of the givingfeedback.mts (hiss removed) file.

Hi Brett
In the future when you upload MediaInfo reports, can you please send the detailed report and not basic summary.
Set View By = Tree
I'm not sure what has gone wrong, but your MediaInfo report seems to be telling you there is a problem.
It looks like MediaInfo is saying the File Extension is invalid.
Let's go back a few steps and review your workflow.
How to did you render the repaired audio?
What format did you use?
When using Sound Forge and Vegas Pro together, the audio format you should be working with is .WAV files.
A .WAV will open in any version of Sound Forge and Vegas Pro.
The only way I can explain this, is to tell you how I would have done it.
Did you use this workflow or do something completely different ?
Please explain in detail the exact steps you did - like I have listed below.
1. Imported original Camera.mts video with bad audio into Vegas Pro
2. Opened audio track for .mts video (sitting on Vegas Pro timeline) in Sound Forge Audio Studio 12 - this would have been rendered into .wav format.
3. Repaired audio with Sound Forge and pressed Save - this would have automatically saved repaired .wav audio back to your Vegas Pro timeline.
4. Rendered new video with Vegas Pro and fixed audio
5. If in future I wanted to do more work, I would re-open original Vegas Pro project with fixed audio using Vegas Pro 19 #532
6. If Sound Forge Audio Studio 15 is installed and linked with Vegas Pro 19 in Preference settings, the fixed .wav file should open OK in SFAS 15.
Regards
Derek

Here is the tree view of the audio edited (hiss removed) file
I see that the general details at the top of the tree show .wav and audio details show a different format PCM
I used SF 12 as it has an audio function "hiss remover" which is not SF 15. Vegas Pro is set up with SF15 as default audio editor, so I opened up the un edited audio file to remove hiss in SF 12. I did not use SF 12 from within VP 19 (the default audio editor was SF15)

If you're saying that your .WAV file will not open in Vegas Pro 19 or Sound Forge Audio Studio 15, I have no explanation for that.
There is nothing special about .WAV files - they will normally open in any programs that supports audio files.
The only thing that can block a file from opening, is if it has the wrong Windows File Permissions associated with it.
This can happen if you created the file on a different computer.
Try running Vegas Pro and/or Sound Forge "As the Administrator".
Right-click program start icons and Run as Admin or go into Properties and permanently set to "Run as Admin".
All I can suggest is you re-trace your steps and re-apply the Hiss Removal - save a new .WAV file.
