VEGAS Pro 21 - Building peaks for audio. was created by BobH

Hi there,
I use VEGAS Pro 21 for my video editing. Having returned from Australia I have a project with about 200 mp4 video clips in my project. When I load the project it takes a little time as expected, but then at the bottom left it takes ages as I have 'Building peaks for xxx.mp4' for all the 200 clips. Is this necessary and if not can it be turned off? I don't remember having this issue when I used earlier versions of VEGAS Pro.
Any suggestion most welcome, so thanks in advance.

That gives the impression peaks are being redrawn every time you open your project instead of being saved.  Check in Preferences/General and near the bottom is "Do not create .sfk files to store peak data"  Check you have it UNTICKED so that peak data is saved.
