Minimizing a project was created by Michel

Hi,

Is it just me. Let's say I'm working on a VP 22 project and must minimize that work on the task bar, after a few minutes I need to get it back on screen, I then click on that project on the Task Bar and I must then make different moves with the mouse hoping that it will open to its original state or, after loosing patience, I close the window and reload that project?

Help on that matter would be greatly appreciated...thank you.

Hi Michel. I went from VP20 to VP23, so have no personal experience with VP22, but I have seen a few reports of this issue so you’re not alone.  I don’t think the Developers (or many users) were able to replicate the issue they were never able to identify the cause or develop a fix.  I don’t recall seeing any reports of the issue with VP23 (so far) though.Do you hear a “ping” after clicking on the task bar icon.  If so, after the “ping” try either double clicking on the task bar icon or pressing the ESC key after the “ping”.  I recall a few people saying that worked for them.Cheers, Robbie

Hi Rob,

You got it man. I minimized the Project, waited a few seconds and clicked twice on the icon on the Taskbar and Boom! Nope, the project did not appear full screen like expected, but after double clicking a small sample of the ''- minimize symbol box and X''  (see screenshot) on the upper left corner with a blue V at the left. I then click on the Box and there the Project appeared. Great!

Thanks a lot for that tip.

I see you got Version 23, I thought al lot of getting it when it was on special during Black Friday for 99$. Being from Canada, I must add 40% for the exchange on the American dollar. I had also tried the trial version and noticed that that version did not provide the timeline at the top of the app. Contrary to many people, I learnt Vegas with Version 6.0, 20 years ago and that was the way to work with the app, having the timeline on the top.

Being on the subject of Version 23, can you tell me if you can work with projects made with previous versions of Vegas?

Thanks and have a nice day Rob.

Not ideal but glad it works for you.
As for VP23, the exchange rate issue here in Aus is about the same as you are experiencing at the moment. I haven't done the update yet as I was in the middle of a project, but I understand build 302 has added a layout option (in View>Windows Layout) with the timeline at the top. I can open and work with projects from older versions of VP.  The only caveat on that would be if the older projects used any plugins that are no longer available (ie not on your current computer, were locked to a specific version of VP, or no longer work in newer versions of VP or windows).
Cheers, Robbie

Hi Michel Just read your post.  I got an email from Magix offering to upgrade to Vegas Pro 23 studio for £49. I do not know if it only applies to those who have only got ver 23 or whether it applies to other versions of Vegas Pro.  Might be worth having a look.  Nothing ventured nothing gained.  Cheers John

Hi,Pioneer,

If I'm not mistaken 49 English pounds is about 100 Canadian $. Vegas Pro was on special on Black Friday recently for 98$ US about 140$ Canadian. I had problems with my Version 22 that I finally resolved myself. You are talking of Vegas Pro studio not aware of that version? I did DL the trial version, decided to not invest on 23, the differences were minimal.

Thanks for the info.
