Hi,

I have kept old versions of Vegas Pro since version 16. I am now using version 22. My brother knows I do use Vegas as a video editor and wants to know how much it woud cost him to purchase the most recent version? He never used it, has no basic info. on how it works and I strongly recommend that he accepts my offer of me giving him my copy of V. 21.

What must he do if he does actually use that version for the registration process. Must he register under his name and email even though Boris does not have his coordinates? Must I inform Boris of the change of ownership of that version of Vegas?  

Help on this matter would be appriciated...Thank you.

Yes, you need to inform Magix or Boris FX of the change of ownership of your VP21 version.  Only they can arrange that.  Make sure you give them the correct email address that your brother will be using to activate the programme.  That is important.  If it's wrong he won't be able to activate.

I don't know whether it's Magix or Boris FX that are responsible for a VP21 change but I'd start by contacting Boris FX Support.  Let us know how you get on.

Boris FX will have zero ability to help in changing ownership of a Magix license. I strongly recommend not to contact Boris FX support on this matter at all. Hypothetically, the only people that could help with changing an old Magix era license are Magix. However, the few people left working at Magix will not be able to, or interested in helping you do something like this.
