De-activation of Magix Vegas Pro license
I'm trying to give my brother my copy of Vegas Pro 21. To be sure everything was working properly before me giving him my copy I reinstalled Vegas. At the end of the installation, Ireceived a message telling me that I had reached the maximum number...(see attcahed screen shot). The message was also telling me to reach out to Magix, which I did a few days ago. I'm french speaking and some english terms I don't understand. Many from the Vegas Community are telling me to deactivate my version...why? Magix is refusing to answer my issue referring me to Boris and Boris is telling me that it only answers to issues to 2026 Version of Vegas.
Does anyone have a clue o what i can do whit my problem?
Thank you

Posted 04 Jun 2026 18:57 #17555In the private email messages we exchanged 2 weeks ago, I did explain to you (so that you would be prepared) that you would have to de-activate your VP21 license key before transferring it to a different computer.
I also created a new article 2 weeks ago, that shows all the steps for de-activating a Magix licence key.

I guess my communication was lost in translation.
Anyway, I'm happy it is working for you now.
Derek.

When we spoke (May 1st and 3rd) the only issue I had was how I would give away my Vegas Pro 21 copy to my brother. I was going along with your instructions but before I wanted to be sure that my version was still in a workable condition. So I installed it and you'll see from the screen shot that I was unable to do so. I had to de activate my versions (with an ''s''). When looking in My Products item on the Magix account site, I found out that I owned 2 versions of Vegas Pro 21...weird I had just purchased one. I owned the straight version and they were showing I also owned the ''suite'' version...don't get it. They were telling me to communicate with Magix for the follow up, which I did. A back and forth game then started between Magix who was referring me to Boris and Boris to Magix. I just could not understand why I had to deactivate my one and only version of Vegas 21. So I wrote Zen on June 3rd. The day after someone at Magix finally decided to give the whole procédure on how to deactivate my Vegas Pro 21 copy...but never tod me why I had those two versions in my Products.
I then asked why I did have have those two versions and also why I had to deactivate and the amnswer came in fast on the same day:Hello and welcome to MAGIX,Thank you for contacting MAGIX Support.Unfortunately, we must inform you that the program or program version you are using is no longer supported by our support team. Therefore, we are unable to provide technical assistance for this product. We recommend upgrading to a current version of our software in order to benefit from the latest features and our technical support. You can find information about our current products in our online shop at www.magix.com .I called my brother yesterday and since he has already has my copy, I told him to install it with your instructions and hope It will work good...
Thanks for the insight Derek...
Have a Great one.

I attached a screenshot taken before I deactivated Vegas Pro 21. I erased the serial number written under that version. But you can clearly see both versions of Vegas Pro 21 ''straight'' and ''suite''. Magix never answered my question to why they had registered two different versions of the same product in My Products, having purchased only Vegas Pro 21.
