The New Blue Titler EX is a special Titles and Text generation program, that gives you the ability to create professional looking 3D Graphics.

NB Titler EX comes packaged with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 Suite and Imagination Studio 4. It is one of the coolest bonus features that you get with both these special versions of Movie Studio Platinum 12, and one of the big reasons why these versions are worth the relatively small extra price.

Using this program, you can apply Styles, Video Fx, Animations and Transitions to your Text.
Not only can you work in the traditional flat 2D plane, you can also extrude your Text to create a 3D "3 dimensional" look that has depth.

Versions of the New Blue Titler available

There are actually three different versions of the New Blue Titler, which are made by NewBlueFx.com:

• New Blue Titler EX - for Movie Studio Platinum
• New Blue Titler Pro 1.0 - for Vegas Pro
• New Blue Titler Pro 2.0 - works in both Movie Studio and Vegas Pro

Currently NB Titler Pro 1.0 comes standard with Sony Vegas Pro 11 and 12.
Titler Pro 2.0 is the uber deluxe and newest version of the program and can be purchased directly from NewBlueFx.com. Version 2.0 also works in all the main Video Editing programs available today, like Sony Vegas Pro, Sony Movie Studio Platinum, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer and Grass Valley Edius.

I just installed New Blue Titler EX or Pro and it is not working properly?

If you bought a boxed version of Movie Studio Suite, more than likely most of the programs and apps will be old build versions and need to be checked for updates. Open Movie Studio and go to Media Generators. Find New Blue Titler EX and drag Preset onto timeline. Go to Help in the top menu for the Titler and select Check for Updates.

Differences between New Blue Titler EX and Titler Pro versions

NB Titler EX is a stripped down basic version of Titler Pro, which gives Movie Studio Platinum users a taste of what the Pro version can actually do. Titler EX actually comes with the same core group of Style Templates that the Pro versions do. The main difference between the EX and Pro versions, is that Pro gives you the ability to Keyframe (animate) just about any setting and function in the program. Which means if you can think it, you can create it. The EX version is designed to mix and match a group of pre-made style and effects templates, so that you can very quickly create some sweet looking titles. Titler Pro 2.0 is the deluxe version in the lineup and contains a great many extra features that the first two versions do not have. I will be reviewing NB Titler Pro 2.0 in the coming weeks.

Hi, My saved titles are visible in my documents folder but when I try to add media via vegas, they're hidden so I can import them. Most frustrating. Any ideas? please and thank you

What type of files are you talking about ?
Meaning, what file extension are they using ? .mp4 .txt.....
Are you talking about video files, text files, NewBlueFX files, etc...?

You need to buy the program then.
You can still buy Movie Studio Platinum 12 Suite and Movie Studio Platinum 13 Suite from Amazon.
Both these versions come with the titler and valid serial numbers for activation.

Hi. I have just installed Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 and followed your instructions to add the NewBlue titler. When I go into Movie Studio and select NewBlue from the Media Generator I get a large popup window which has Video Media Generator: NewBlue Titler EX - OpenFX. Below it has Frame size 720 x 576 Duration 09:29 and below that Preset Default and that is all. Nothing appears in the viewer. What have I done wrong?

The first thing you need to try, is reset the program.
Follow instructions posted here and then open Movie Studio. See if you can drag the Titler to timeline and get it working now.
If that does not work, you need to have a dedicated Graphics Card installed on your computer, for NewBlueFX Titler to work properly.
In the Movie Studio top menu, go to Options/Preferences/Video/GPU Acceleration
In the drop down box, does it only say OFF or is there another option?
If there is another option, if should be selected to turn on. What does it say?

I found that the version of Titler on the installation disk was not compatible with the version of Movie Studio. Once I had the correct version online, it has started working. This is where I found the correct version. http://www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Windows/NewBlueSonyVegasMSPPS12Setup14-131212.exe Thank you for your prompt reply.

Hi Derek,

Something weird happens to me. I click on newblue titler, bring it to the text line, the windows opens. I did all my title with style, effects and transition. I save my preselection but when I close the blue FX titler nothing happens on the text line. I do not understand how I can have my title to appear. Is there something to do before I close the blue titler window ?
Thanks for your help
Regards
Bruno

Found. I understand where the problem came from : I chose video effects instead of media generator.
I will recreate my title npw.

Hi Derek, I have Movie Studio 12, and I would like to know, if I already have the program, can I download the Blue Titler EX for free?

Hi Seb
Unfortunately New Blue Titler EX only comes with Movie Studio Platinum 12 Suite version. There is no free download for this program because you need the license key for it that comes with the Suite version of Movie Studio to.activate it. The NB Titler EX is designed as a "teaser" version of NB Titler Pro 1.0 and 2.0.

The only versions that you can download are New Blue Titler Pro 1.0 and New Blue Titler Pro 2.0 - both of these cost money. If you subscribe to the New Blue Fx Newsletter, you will get notified of when they have Sales on - something they do quite regularly.

Here is download page for New Blue Titler Versions.

Hi Lars
The #1 reason why the New Blue Titler crashes, is because your Graphics Card (or lack of one) is not powerful enough to run the plugin. The NB Titler requires a large amount of processing power because it is working with 3D Modelling.

You can contact support at http://www.newbluefx.com/support and ask them for more information. Tell them which Graphics Card you have.

There is also another thing you can try as a process of elimination, in case something else is going on.
Do this to clear the Movie Studio Cache, which can sometimes cause strange crashes:
Turn Movie Studio Off.
Hold down CONTROL and SHIFT keys at the same time AND ALSO AT THE SAME TIME double click program icon to Boot program.
Window will pop up.
Select Delete Cache and Yes.
This will restore program to Factory Default Settings.

Regards
Derek.
