In this video tutorial I show how to place a Transition at the very beginning of a project using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.

Normally the only way to add a Transition is to overlap to pieces of Video or Media, and then drag and drop a selected Transition into the gap.

When there is no overlap, all you have to do is drag the Transition onto the timeline and then position it extremely close to the right or left corner of the video in the timeline. Once the transition is in place, you can then drag the length of time for the transition to last out further of closer together. Watch the video and you will understand very quickly.
