Third Prize: 1 Hour Skype Video Call with MSZ to ask questions about Video Editing and/or your YouTube Channel.

How to enter and win?

To put your name in the drawer you can enter by any of the methods in the Gleam app below. The more ways you share this giveaway, the more entries you will earn. The winner will be drawn at the end of the competition period and we will email the winner directly. If the winner does not confirm and/or contact us within 24 hrs of receiving notice of the win, another winner will be chosen.

Who is eligible to enter the giveaway?

You must be over the age of 13 years to enter this giveaway.

The competition is open to all entrants internationally, except for residents in the state of New South Wales and the ACT in Australia. There is a technicality with NSW and the ACT which will take time for me to rectify, due to government regulations. Hopefully in future promotions, I can remedy this situation.

I am not into Facebook or Twitter, does that mean I can't enter the competition?

It does not matter if you are not into Facebook or Twitter. Everyone who enters the competition automatically gets 2x Entries for joining the Newsletter and answering the multiple choice question. Sharing via social media is NOT compulsory, but if you do, you will gain additional entries.

How do I get Extra Entries if I am already subscribed to your Social Media channels?

That's great! Even if you are already subscribed to the MSZ Newsletter, YouTube, Facebook or Twitter, follow the links and Gleam will check to see if you are already subscribed. If you are, it will grant you and extra entry into the giveaway when you return to the Gleam app.

When does the Giveaway Start and Finish?

The giveaway starts 10:00PM 1st March 2016 and ends at 11:59PM 21 st March 2016 (Sydney, Australia time +10 UTC)

The tutorial about blurring out parts of a video was very good! The great thing is that the basic techniques shown could be applied to many other effects, not just blurring. One tutorial that would be really helpful would be to cover the basics of keyframes: What they are, how they can be used, and where they appear in the editor (the different screens). Keyframes are used for so many things, but it takes some practice to get comfortable with them.

Sorry, I could not enter your contest. I am an information security officer and giving my birthdate opens me up to identity theft should your files fall into the wrong hands. Since I've only seen a couple of your videos, I have to pass. Perhaps you could consider contests that do not require personal information or attestations that any government requirements are met. I do enjoy the videos though...keep 'em up.

Hi Glenn and thank you for your message.
I have successfully removed the DATE field from the entry form. This is the first time I have used the Gleam service and was under the impression that the date field could not be removed from the entry form. After digging deep into the help files for Gleam, I discovered that I could remove the date option, which I have. So please enter the giveaway if you would like to!

I totally agree with your statement about the concern of identity theft. It is something that would actually be totally against the Privacy Policy of Movie Studio Zen if I used anyone's private information. This is something I feel very strongly about, like yourself. Personally I was not happy about the date field being there, but thought it must have been a legal requirement for running a giveaway promotion. I was a bit spooked, so did not investigate any further. I'm glad you sent your message, because others had also expressed concern.
      Regards

        Additional important 2nd message.
I thought you may be interested to know this Glenn. Now that I have removed the DATE field, I was wondering about what to do with the birth dates that had already being collected. So I opened the database for all entries received so far and can see that Gleam has automatically deleted the Date column for me. So no one will ever know what that information was. That makes me feel a lot better now, after making a newbie mistake.
        Derek.

      Hi Glenn
Please read the information above the entry forum where I specifically answered this concern of some people. The first two ways to enter are compulsory and have nothing to do with social media. So you will still get at least TWO entries by filling out a few details.
      Cheers Dex

Thanks for your generosity in sharing your video editing knowledge and experience. Always great content. Quick request - please speak louder. I have the volume on your videos and computer turned to max and still have difficulty (sometimes) hearing you.

Many people have all complained about my use of music in these 3 new videos - something which I normally do not do. I have a good pair of speakers and pro level headphones - the audio is perfectly clear when I listen to my mix with these devices. However, I understand that if people are using tiny speakers it may sound completely different. I have the dialogue audio mixed to the loudest level possible without clipping - if it was any louder it would cause distortion. It is peaking at -4dB, which is loud by professional standards. Please make sure you have checked all the Volume controls on your computer. If you don't realize one is low, everything will be low.
      1. YouTube video player has an volume control located in bottom left corner.
      2. Your computer screen has a volume control in the lower right corner of Taskbar.
      3. If you have a physical set of speakers connected outside of your computer, there will be a volume knob on that as well.
If you are listening with only laptop speakers, I would advise buying some headphones or external speakers.
If there is an EQ mixer on your sound card, make sure it is not turned on or running at flat levels.
I will be making some adjustments in the next videos to make the actual dialogue clearer.
      Thank you.

Fantastic idea. Glad that your parrot has gone. I look forward to your tutorials. Keep up the good work. Why does GLEAM need to know my birthday in the entry??

It is purely a legal technicality to make sure you are over 13 years of age, because you can't be younger than that to enter.
You can enter any date you like, it does not have to be your actual birth date. Just make sure it works out to be more than 13 years.
