Solved Missing CD/DVD after Windows 10 update

I've just recently had a Windows 10 update which has really screwed up my link to my CD/DVD drive. The computer can no longer see the drive so I'm screwed to burn a disk.
There are fixes on the Internet but none seem to work.
Anyone had the same problem and have a fix for this please?

I don't know how to fix this problem because I have never experienced this myself.
Your best bet is to search the Windows 10 forums and ask your question there.

Did you do a Clean Install of Windows 10 after upgrading from Windows 7 or 8 ?
This is the best way to remove most problems.

You may also need to look at updating the firmware for your Motherboard, if you know what brand and model it is.
Most Windows 10 hardware problems would be related to Driver incompatibility or Motherboard firmware incompatibility.

Have you tried updating the Driver for your DVD Drive ?

Right-click Windows Start button and select Device Manager.
Do you see DVD Drive and your drive underneath ?

If you do, right-click and select Update Driver Software

Hi Dr Zen, thanks for your quick reply. I had tried most of the suggestions I found on the Internet to no avail. But when I booted up the PC this morning the CD/DVD drive is back on the File Explorer window, for how long I don't know.
I did notice the machine did another update before I shut down last night so that may have solved the problem, who knows. There have been quite a few conflicts with the Windows 10 updates I understand.
