In this video tutorial I show how to improve Playback Quality in the Preview Window when using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.

When large 720p & 1080p HD Video files are put into Vegas Movie Studio, a large amount of information has to be processed in real time through your Computers CPU. This can cause a time lag in the preview window. By making some changes to the settings for the Preview Window, you can reduce the amount of lag and dropped frames, giving you a smoother playback experience.

While the techniques I show in this tutorial are helpful, the best solution is to upgrade to a more powerful computer that uses at least a Four Core CPU. Since 2011, Intel and AMD Chip Makers have introduced a new series of CPU's which are optimised to process HD Video more smoothly.
