In this video tutorial I show you how to adjust or repair Video Screen Captures of Gameplay that don't fill the whole screen properly and are not displaying at the correct aspect ratio.
I will be using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 for the tutorial.
All video on YouTube is displayed on a 16:9 Aspect Ratio player, which is the International standard now for all widescreen video. If your TV screen or Computer Monitor is not 16:9, and something like 16:10 instead, then you will have to make some adjustments in Vegas if you want the black bars to disappear.
So in this video I explain fully why you may be seeing black bars, and I show you all the possible settings you can change, so that your Gameplay Videos fill the whole screen properly.
If you are experiencing a problem where your video is only displaying one quarter of itself in the Preview Window, then you probably have imported a video recorded with a Hauppauge PVR. The .mp4 codec used by Hauppage is only designed to display properly on an Xbox Consule.
The solution to this problem is to record to .m2ts or.ts instead - both of these formats will work just fine in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11.
