Zen Tip #11: How To Troubleshoot Problems with Sony Vegas

In today’s Sony Vegas Zen Tips #11, I am going to show you how to trouble shoot any problem with Sony Vegas Pro, Movie Studio Platinum or DVD Architect.

4. Check your Graphics Card Drivers.

5. Check that Windows is up to date.

6. Re-boot your computer.

7. Don't have different programs running at the same time.

9. Recording to different formats/codecs.

10. Use a Video Conversion program to help with importing non-standard video formats/codecs.

11. Turning off GPU Acceleration.

12. Check that your Frame Rates match

13. Inspect Video FX at the point render crashes.

14. Corrupted .vf and .veg project files can be rescued by copying your timeline content into a new project file.

15. Clean/delete the Temporary Files Cache.

16. Ask for Help on the Movie Studio Zen Forum.

Error 2 how do you fix this basically you installed it it worked fine but then you uninstall it and try removing still excepting files before reinstalling and after you do install again and try to launch you get this error and i have no clues as to how to fix this issue. It installed just fine but will not launch PS. i got it threw steam.

  I don't understand what you're saying, because there are no "full stops / periods ." in that longggggggggg sentence you wrote.
  1. Please try and explain again in more detail.
  2. Use point form like this and take me through each step you did.
  3. What exactly is the problem ?
  4. If it shows an error message, what does the error message say ?

I am using sony movie studio platinium 13, I have stabilized two clips and when I try to stabilize the third clip, the program shuts down. Any solution or ideas how to fix. thanks sanford

  The Stabilization plugin that comes with Movie Studio, is quite primitive compared to alternate 3rd party solutions. Personally I don't use this plugin at all. It requires a lot of memory to work properly, so my guess is that you are running out of RAM. I think your best solution may be to break your project into sub-projects and render/export out each Stabilized clip first, then import back into a single Master project.

  I keep a massive file on all the questions I get asked the most, and that is what is generating the video series. This is going to make it much easier for me in the future, because I can direct people to watch a video instead of writing the same thing over and over again. :)
