In this video tutorial I show how to repair the Aspect Ratio of MOD and MPEG2 video files using Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10.
Sometimes when you import a raw video file from your Video Camera into your Computer, the file does not maintain it's Widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio. MOD & MPEG files sometimes do this.
You can restore this in Vegas Movie Studio by adjusting the Project Properties of the video file, once it has been imported.
The best way to avoid this situation in the first place, is to install the software suite that normally comes with your Video Camera. This software includes tools that allow you to import the raw video from the camera, and in the process it is converted into a stable mpeg2 video file with all it's properties and meta data kept in tact.
I have made another video tutorial How to Download Video Files from a Canon Standard Definition Video Camera, which teaches the process I just described.
