I can give you some specific recommendations, in regards to suitable computers for content creation programs, like VEGAS Pro.
More RAM (memory) is always good.
I recommend 16GBs of RAM as a minimum standard. 8GBs really isn't enough anymore, because Windows and background programs will use a lot of RAM before you even open a program like VEGAS Pro to edit with.
The best Nvidia Graphics card you can afford is also extremely important !
Most programs are GPU accelerated today and will work best if you have a decent GPU.
Nvidia GPUs have the best compatibility with most content creation programs.
AMD GPUs are also good and better value, but if you can get Nvidia, that be my choice.
AMD is now the official king of CPUs.
Intel use to be the market leader, but that is no longer the case, however there is nothing wrong with Intel CPUs for laptops.
I mention AMD CPUs because if you see an option that uses AMD, you can be sure it will work very well and use less energy and create less heat, compared to an Intel CPU for laptop.
The size of the C-Drive is up to you.
Get bigger capacity if you intend to install a lot of programs and/or install some games to play.

p.s. "Gaming Laptops" is a marketing term. Most laptops marketed for gamers and also great for content creation.
