My PC keeps lagging when I render videos - is my RAM the problem?

Hey everyone!
So I've been using Movie Studio for a few months now and every time I try to render even a short clip it slows down like crazy and sometimes just freezes. My PC has 8GB of RAM and an older Intel i5. I'm thinking maybe I need more RAM but I honestly don't know if that's really the issue or if it's something else like my GPU.I've been looking around to buy RAM online and there's so many options it's actually confusing. Same with GPU - every time I search to buy a GPU online I don't even know what numbers to look for or what's actually worth it for video editing.Has anyone upgraded their setup recently?

Would going to 16GB RAM make a big difference or should I focus on the GPU first?

16GBs of RAM is the minimum I would recommend for a computer that does Video Editing, however, if you are using a really old computer, it probably won't make that much difference.

Which exact version of Vegas Movie Studio are you using ?

Are you Matching your Frame Rates correctly ?
If you don't match the Source Video Frame Rate = Project Properties Frame Rate = Render (Output) Frame Rate, it will make processing extremely slow.

What is the exact model Intel CPU you are using ?

What is the current model Graphics Card you are using ?

Which version of Windows are you using ?

If you don't know what hardware your computer is using, you can find this by running a tool in Windows.
Press the Windows Search box in bottom Taskbar and search for "dxdiag". Click result to run.
CPU will be listed in System tab and GPU will be listed in Dsiplay tab.
If your Intel CPU has integrated graphics, it may show in Display 1 or 2.
