I'd like to add a small graphic in my lower thirds (generated media). Can that be done? This is using Movie Studio 12 Plat.

Import your Graphic onto a new Video Track above all your other video tracks.
Then use the Track Motion Tool to position it into the correct place.

What can make this a bit easier, is if you first save the Graphic onto a transparent layer set to 1920x1080 pixels in Photoshop. Save it as a .png file.
If you re-size it fairly accurately and place it in the lower third position while you are still in Photoshop, this will make it easier to use when you import it into Movie Studio.
