I thought some3 of you might be interested in JabbaNut's post of the 1 May in the AV Forum which tells you how to access and use many of the BBC's Sound FX:-

More than 16000 BBC Sound Effects are made available by the BBC in WAV format to download for use under the terms of the RemArc Licence.

The Sound Effects are BBC copyright, but they may be used for personal, educational or research purposes, as detailed in the license.

Stumbled on this while looking for something else, thought I would share.
