I am learning this slowly at the moment, but I am not qualified to start teaching it yet.
The first resource you should refer to is the actual Hit Film YouTube Channel.
Most of their tutorials are done with Hitfilm Ultimate 2, however the layout and controls are the same for the Express version - so it is easy to adapt.
I suggest you start right back at the beginning, with the basics. If you try to jump directly into a complicated tutorial, you will probably end up lost - at least that's what happened to myself.

If you do some searches on YouTube, you should find a couple of people teaching HItfilm.
ℹī¸ Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.
