Will MSP 17  work with Windows 11?

Derek is possibly unwell again or away on holiday.

I have my Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17 installed on Win 11 Home Edition and appears okay.  I've only played with it.  Haven't actually done a video with it yet.
 

Thanks for your quick reply.  I was a bit concerned that Derek might be unwell as I know his health has not been good in the past.
I am wanting to updaye my laptop as it is now some 8 years old.  I am still using MSP17 which suits me ok.  So if windows 11 will be ok then I'll seriously think about an upgrade.  In 2021 Derek warned that there were serious bugs in W11 so I presume that most have been ironed out.  Should I perhaps go to Vegas  pro  and how would I do that?

2021 was three years ago.  Win 11 is now well established.

As for upgrading to Vegas Pro there's a Vegas 21 Sale area at the top of this forum.  If you are unsure you could try the 30 day trial that Magix provides.

Hi Brian !!

I have had just over 12 months off, to recover from brain surgery.
It's been a very slow process, but I am feeling much better now, most of the time.
I have also been experiencing an annoying side effect from the new shunt (that treats my hydrocephalus), which has been the main cause of my delay in returning to normal work.

Anyway... I am much improved now and hopefully will begin uploading new content, starting next week.
I am working on stuff right now.

I agree with Eric 100% about Windows 11.
Windows 11 is great now and I highly recommend it!
It's been surprisingly good at running all the old programs I still use, including VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 17.
There are some bugs with VEGAS Movie Studio Platinum 17 that will never be fixed now, that can be annoying if you are working with certain types of videos.

If you buy a new computer/laptop, with Windows 11, I highly recommend upgrading to VEGAS Pro 21.
If you haven't bought a new laptop yet, make sure to get one that has a dedicated Nvidia Graphics Card inside.
To get the most out of VEGAS Pro 21, you need a modern Nvidia Graphics Card, due to all the GPU acceleration.

A new update was just released for VEGAS Pro 21 last week, and it has added a lot of BIG improvements.
This month is the BEST time to upgrade from Movie Studio to VEGAS Pro, because the upgrade price is 50% off !!!
VEGAS Pro Edit 21 is the full version of VEGAS Pro, just by itself - upgrade is only $99.

Thanks for your advice.  Have not yet got a quote for a new laptop.  Still considering the matter.   One question, If I upgrade to Vegas Pro 21 will that work with DVD Architect?

DVD Architect is a retired product, so there is no integration between VEGAS Pro and DVD Architect anymore.
However, this is not a big deal at all.
You can still render DVD Architect formats with VEGAS Pro 21 and manually import your Video and Audio files into DVD Architect, after rendering with VEGAS.

Please also know, that when you buy an upgrade to any new version of VEGAS, it does not uninstall or effect any old versions of VEGAS you have installed on your computer.
You older versions will not be uninstalled and will still work. I have many older versions of VEGAS installed on my computer.

This sounds the same as the way I use MSP17 with DVD Architect. Rendeer the file to MP4

then import into DVD Arch.
