Solved Can MSP12 read SRT files?

Can MSP12 read SRT files? was created by peterh337

All the refs I can find online refer to Pro only.

I plan to generate dynamic subtitles (latitude and longitude and altitude, basically, for a flying video).

One can import them via various means e.g. Handbrake but

(a) I want to avoid an intermediate rendering step

(b) where would one specify the font and the location of the subtitle text? The SRT format is just the text and the duration.

I do have Pro 13 also (bought it for the $200 offer) but it doesn't work for long jobs. After some hours of rendering it starts to corrupt the video (see other thread). So I am using MSP12 for now.

Just in case someone comes across this thread on google in the future:

Vegas (any version) cannot import SRT data.

The $99 Vegasaur plug-in can do it, however, as described here
www.euroga.org/forums/website/1413-a-movie-with-dynamic-subtitles/post/118776#118776

I have the executable of the converter which takes in the Oziexplorer GPS track (.plt file) and outputs SRT.
