I watched your video on rendering in 720p on Vegas 11 and I do not have the option to customize template in my Render As menu. Is there something wrong with my software or is it an update or something? I only have the About button. I hope someone can help me with this. I can't change the bit rate and rendering is taking way too long (12 minute video took over 6 hours).

Which exact version of the program are you using ?
Open the program and go to Help/About
It will look similar to this:

If it it turns out that you have the basic version of Vegas Movie Studio 11 (NOT the Platinum version), I'm afraid you're out of luck.

zen FAQ is an excellent guide.

You might want to keep checking on the new MAGIX Vegas site, if they make the old versions available through them after the transition is completed. Sony/SCS did not though.
