Solved Saving a split clip to the project media

Saving a split clip to the project media was created by huskereurocat

I understand how to take a snapshot and that adds it to the project media. I can then use that snapshot in multiple places in my project. I was wondering if there is a similar way to split out a portion of a clip (complete with it's accompanying sound file) and be able to use that in multiple places in the project. The only way that I know of is copying that clip and pasting it to another video and audio track. Is there a better way to place this clip, maybe, directly in the project media so it can be used like a snapshot?

Right click on your trimmed clip on the timeline and select Create Subclip?

1. Right-click video and open in Trimmer.
2. Drag out region for new sub-clip.
3. Press Create Sub-Clip button.
4. You can re-name it if you like.
5. Sub-Clip will be sent to Project Media window.

Thanks Derek. I didn't realise you could do it from the Trimmer. It even gives you the option to reverse. Problem is I normally don't bother with the Trimmer.

Derek, once again, has been a wealth of knowledge! He has taught me a couple of tricks via the trimmer in the last few weeks.

Thanks Derek!!!
