Hi Bill
The problem is with the format you are rendering to.
DVD was created back before widescreen HD and 4K TVs were invented.
DVD only outputs to Standard Definition 720x480 - which is very low resolution.
If you want your projects to look good on your TV, you need to make Blu-ray discs instead, which support up to 1920x1080.
If you computer does not have a DVD/Blu-ray burner, it is worth investing in one.
Blu-ray quality is night and day compared to DVD.
A lot of people have also stopped making discs altogether and just play back there videos directly from a USB Drive or Streaming from their computer to TV using home Wi-Fi Network. If you try this method, render to Mainconcept AVC - Internet 1080p.
Regards
Derek
