Hi,

I have recently bought the full version of MovieStudio13 for my Son, after his free trial expired,it is amazing what he can do with it but he currently has a problem when dragging/dropping img files into a Project in the Editor...when he drags a file, as soon as the cursor moves over the Project a small round circle with a line through appears - this seems to happen quite randomly ie. sometimes he can successfully drag/drop a few img files and then with subsequent files the circle/line appears, and sometimes this happens when trying to drag/drop the first file into a Project - he tells me that he did not have this problem on the free trial version...I have to take his word for it btw the videos are filmed on an IPAD - does anybody have any ideas/suggestions please?

many thanks,

Andy

Normally if a file will not import, it means it is using a format that is not supported by Movie Studio.
MS supports a large range of image formats.

Try using a different method for Importing your media files.

Method 1
Go to Project (top toolbar) - Add Media
Navigate through computer and select files you want to use.
Then drag from Project Media tab onto timeline.

Method 2
Go Project Media tab
Press Add Media
Navigate through computer and select files you want to use.
Then drag from Project Media tab onto timeline.

Method 3
Go to Explorer tab
Navigate through computer and select files you want to use.
Then drag from Project Media tab onto timeline.

If problem still persists, you may have a Windows permissions problem.
This can sometimes happen if your media files are located on an External Hard Drive.
Also make sure you installed Movie Studio on the C-drive of your computer.
Go to Local Disc (C)/Programs/Sony/Movie Studio Platinum 13
If you install Movie Studio in a non-standard program location (different hard drive), this can effect how Windows Permissions work.

Another thing you can do is a full program reset.
This will default all settings and clean the cache - making the program look freshly installed.
Do this:
Turn Movie Studio/Vegas/DVD Architect Off.
Hold down CONTROL and SHIFT keys at the same time AND ALSO AT THE SAME TIME double click program icon on Desktop to Boot program.
Window will pop up.
Select Delete Cache and Yes.
This will restore program to Factory Default Settings.

Derek.
