Can someone explain the difference between MS suite & MS Platinum, please. (Apart from £30 that is)

Have purchased MSP 16 Platinum and retained MSP 15. Each time either boots up a large panel appears titled HIT FILM and asks me to log on and activate. I tried that and having set up a requested account I am asked to input a code number, which of course I do not have. Should Magix have sent me one with MSP 16 or is this an error. If the latter how can I stop its continual appearance.

Hi Brian,

I will address the first part. As far as the program Movie Studio, there is no difference between Platinum or Suite. Suite is actually the Platinum program with extra's included, therefore it cost a bit more. So, all functions and features are the same.

I didn't purchase the Suite package, rather the MS16 Platinum upgrade. I have some Ignite FX's, but not sure if they came with Platinum 16 or a previous version or perhaps Vegas Pro 15/16! So, I will defer your Hit Film question to others that will have the answer.
Best Regards......George

In addition to what Eagle Six posted earlier regarding the differences, see the version comparison table here
www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/vegas-movie-studio/product-comparison/#productMenu

There may also be an extra add-on or two for both in the regular "special upgrade offers" on the Vegas site (links also here on the MSZ site).

Regarding HitFilm, see if www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/support/installing-and-activating-add-ons/ , especially the section FXHOME there would help.

If I am understanding your correctly, you have 2 versions of Vegas installed.
Vegas Movie Studio 15 Platinum & Vegas Movie Studio 16 Platinum
Neither of these versions came with any Hitfilm products.

The Hitfilm window that keeps popping up, is telling you that you have a Hitfilm (FXHOME) product installed, that you have not activated yet.
To find out what that program/app is, open your Windows Control Panel.
Set View By = Large Icons (top right corner).
Select Programs & Features
If you don't see the Publisher column, right-click top menu bar and turn it on.
Then press on top of Publisher to sort alphabetically.
Look for FXHOME which is the publisher of all Hitfilm programs.

Please report back which Hitfilm program and version you have installed.

Regards
Derek

Thanks Derek. I seem to have Hitfilm Toolkit version1.0.7910.52554 installed on 4.02.19. I have Hitfilm fx showing in both 15 & 16 and they seem to work OK. This pop up activation request has only happened since I installed version 16.

If you cannot solve your issue, please read this thread

It seems to suggest an alternative and maybe even better option.

I recommend following the advice contained in the link that vkmast has posted.

I'm not sure how you ended up with the Hitfilm Toolkit.
I thought this only came with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14.
It may have been a free ad-on included with the upgrade you bought - bonus features included with upgrades change all the time and it's hard to remember them all.
Uninstall Hitfilm Toolkit and install the Ignite Express instead, which contains more FX than the Toolkit.
fxhome.com/ignite-express

Ignite Express is a terrific free pack of Video FX.
I own Ignite Pro (the paid version) and use it all the time in projects.

Thanks Derek. Will try Ignite Express as suggested. I assume this will work with both MSP 15 & 16. Most of my unfinished projects are on MSP 15. I am not going to go over to 16 until I have done a couple of small jobs and got to know it. Still have 13 installed for access to the excellent NewBlue titler that came with it. Did have 14 but have uninstalled it.
Best wishes, Brian
