I am trying to identify several people in a picture by placing their names over them. I cannot figure out how to do this. Is there a way of moving multiple texts around in one picture?

Which exact program and version are you using ?

For each person you want to place a Text event next to, you need to add a new Titles & Text event.
So if you have 4x people to identify, you need to add 4x Titles & Text events - that also means adding 4x Video Tracks, so you can stack all the text one of top of the other.

1. There are no automated Motion Tracking functions in Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 15.
You can track text in version 15, but you will need to manually add Key-Frames to track the text.

2. If you upgrade to the newly released Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 17, you can use the new Bezier Masking tool (was added in v16), which also has a tracking function. This tool has the ability to automatically track objects for you, which you can then pin Text to.

I recommend you download the free trial for v17, so you can test it out.
You should also watch both of these tutorials.

Watch this first.

Then watch this, which will teach you how to add Text that tracks with an object.

Tip: You will have to keep re-sizing the FX window, to see all of the controls.
You may need to drag the bottom "key-frame" timeline up, to see the tracking data - hover over top edge of key-frame timeline in FX window, and drag up.

1. Make sure to turn on Sync to Cursor
2. 2nd video tutorial shows how to use the settings.
3. After you have created tracking points and added your text, remember to turn on Mask FX - this will show all your video, but hide the tracking controls in preview window.

ℹ️ Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.
