I've tried several times to install Handbrake 1.3.3 on to Movie Studio 17 Platinum.

No success.

What am I doing wrong?

Handbrake is standalone converter. VMS17P doesn't care about it at all.

As FayFen has explained, Handbrake is a standalone Video Converter.
It is not a plugin for Vegas Movie Studio Platinum.
ℹ️ Remember to turn everything off at least once a week, including your brain, then sit somewhere quiet and just chill out.
