I installed the sound forge 16 which came with the MS 17. When I needed to edit audio version 14 came up only. I uninstalled it and expected MS 17 to then see the new 16 which is installed and registered. No luck. I have trolled the Magix help forums but found nothing. Does anyone know how to connect the two softwares?

I installed the sound forge 16 which came with the MS 17.

Sound Forge Audio Studio 14, is the version that came with Movie Studio Platinum 17.
Sound Forge Audio Studio 16 do NOT come with MSP17.

If you did use the installer as shown above, I highly recommend uninstalling the Update Notifier app !!!
This is a SPAM app and will drive you insane with useless messages.

Does anyone know how to connect the two softwares?

Yes you can link a different audio editor in MSP17.
Go to Options / Preferences / Audio
Halfway down you will find the option to select a different Preferred Audio Editor.
Press BROWSE
Click drop down box at top of window that says "Look In"
Select Sound Forge
Then select Sound Forge 16
Double click to open folder
Find the .exe file that will probably say something like AudioStudio160_x64.exe
Press Open at bottom
Then Apple and OK

Please note there are 2 versions of Sound Forge
64 bit version lives here C:\Program Files\SOUND FORGE
32 bit version lives here C:\Program Files (x86)\SOUND FORGE

Regards
Derek
