Another registration problem... activating old Sony versions of VEGAS

Hello guys, hello Derek.
I've been searching the forums for an issue like mine but haven't found anything similar so as they say in the classics, "Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope..."
Many moons ago (thanks to Derek's suggestion) I purchased the Sony Movie Studio 13.0 Suite and have been a happy, happy user for a long time. Recently my PC crashed and I had to install Windows 10 again and that's where the issues started. I will copy and paste my email to magix and their reply. If anybody here can offer some more help it would be greatly appreciated.
My email was:

Hello Magix support team!

This is as detailed description of my problem as I can manage:
  1. Recently computer crashes.
  2. Re-install Windows 10
  3. Movie Studio Platinum 13.0 stops working (corrupted/missing files)
  4. Internet search suggests re-installing Movie Studio Platinum 13.0
  5. To use Movie Studio I have to register the product
  6. Can't register because Sony servers not available any more
  7. Internet search suggests Magix can help with this problem
  8. Log on to Magix.com and create account
  9. Try to get authorisation code and am instructed to register the product first
  10. Try to register the product
  11. Cannot
  12. Website says serial number I entered is already registered
  13. I contact magix support team via email
  14. Magix support team suggests logging into my account
  15. Go to Home> Support> My Service Center
  16. Magix support team suggests clicking on link 'My products' and remove the product and then register it again
  17. I can't do this because the link is not there.

Please compare the screenshot you previously sent me with the picture I am attaching with this email now.
I really love using this program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you from Mark.

And this is their response:Hello and welcome to MAGIX,Thank you for contacting us.Our last reply already contains all the relevant information regarding this matter. For this reason, we would like to kindly point out that our response remains unchanged from the reply we already sent.
If you have any further questions or if new issues arise, please let us know — we will be happy to help you.Best regardsYour MAGIX Team

Does this mean I can no longer use Movie Studio Suite?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark
I have never tried to activate an old Sony era program until today - I activated all my older programs before the Sony Activation Servers went dead.
I found a really old version of VEGAS Movie Studio and went through all the steps, so that I am familiar with the workflow.
Luckily I was able to Register the software and create a manual Activation Code that actually worked.

I do have an idea as to what your problem may be...

MAGIX may have auto-generated an account for you, way back when they took over control of Sony Vegas software.
Inside of this "hidden/lost" account, your Movie Studio Platinum 13.0 license has an activation logged in their system, which is why you are hitting this roadblock.

HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART:
You need to try and remember the email address you originally used to buy and activate Movie Studio Platinum 13.
This was the email address that MAGIX has used to auto-generate an account for you.
If you can remember this old email address, you should be able to get access to this old account, by trying to Login and using the Forgot My Password link.
You'll also need access to that old email address, because that's where the Password Reset email will be sent to.

Now with all that explanation out of the way, if you can't remember the email address you originally used to buy and/or activate Movie Studio Platinum 13, you now have something extra to ask MAGIX Support.

Tell them that the email address you used for your original MAGIX Account no longer exists.
Because it no longer exists, you can't reset the email address and password, so you can't login to deactivate the license key.
Because of this, you can't DEACTIVATE your license activations for Movie Studio Platinum 13.
Ask them if they can manually deactivate your License Key, so that it can be re-registered / re-activated.

If all of the above does not help, I would recommend upgrading to VEGAS Pro 23.
You should be able to use your Movie Studio Platinum 13 license key, to get the discounted UPGRADE PRICING.

Regards
Derek

p.s.
Tomorrow I am going to make a tutorial for how to activate old Sony programs.
I'll write an article with screen shots, to explain the complete workflow, because it is a bit of a nightmare situation.
I realize it won't help you, but it will help others who end up in the same rabbit hole.
