upgrading to vegas pro was created by ets

Hi all
There is one feature that I am really missing in movie studio: it is continuously speeding up and slowing down footage. For time lapse it seemed to be a must.
But 300 euros to upgrade for one feature is a big cost.
Are there more features that set vegas pro on top?
Why upgraded you to vegas pro?

another question(that I can try myself ) but like to know maybe here:
are all the pluginns (sony and third party)from movie studio compatibel with vegas pro?
thanks for reply......

Hi Emmanuel

I have an article and video which explains all the major differences between Vegas Pro 12 and Movie Studio Platinum 12.
The information is still valid for V13 of both programs.
Comparing Sony Vegas Pro 12 to Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12

If you have bought third party plugins that work in Movie Studio Platinum, they should also work in Vegas Pro, provided they are 64bit plugins.
Any Bonus plugins that came with the Suite version of Movie Studio, often do not work in other programs like Vegas Pro. This is because they are special promotions and are locked to the program they came with.

If you are interested in upgrading to Vegas Pro, the best time to do this is during one of Sony's email promotions, which occur every couple of months. I suspect that Vegas Pro 14 may be released in the next few months, so I would advise to wait until then and see what happens. In the meantime, download the trial and test it out.

Once you have purchased your first copy of Vegas Pro, you then qualify for significant upgrade discounts when each new version of Vegas arrives.

Regards
Derek.

Isn't there a trial version you can download to test for yourself?

I downloaded the trial version of vegas pro and played a while with the 'velocity envelope'feature.
Didn't work very intuitive for me.
After changing these envelopes(with no draw function:() you have to adjust manually the playbacktime of your clip.
Why is there no option to let this happen automatic?
Don't like to pay 300 euros for this (for me)not so fantastic looking update........
I also loose my boris plugins(maybe they are not 64 bit).
So you guess ,I will stay a 'consumer 'for a while........
