Encode/render videos without losing any quality!? was created by DaffyDuck

Hi hope someone can help ! Is it possible to render/encode a video without losing any quality compared to the source vid?

I`m using Movie Studio Platinum 12 to editing vid from GoPro cameras usually shot in 1080p 6ofrps. I have tried different templates with custom settings close as possible to the source, Sony AVC gives the best results, but the renderd output is not as crisp and detailed as the org file. Can fix some of this with color correctien, but stille a noticeable differens in vid quality.

Is there a way to render this and have same quality like the gopro nativ video? It`s Vegas a better software to render video? or have it just more options to better match the sourse.... ?

appreciate any help. thanks !

Hi Daffy

For best results with GoPro video, you can convert it to the Cineform Codec first, using the free Go Pro Studio Software.
This decompresses the video and converts it to a lossless format which is better for Colour Correction and Editing.
Then import this into Movie Studio and do your editing.

Also, the Professionals use Protune Recording Mode to record all their GoPro videos. This is something you need to set in camera before you begin recording.

In Movie Studio there is a setting that can greatly effect the sharpness of your videos.
After you have imported all your videos onto the Timeline, select them all as a group by highlighting them all and then do a right-click.
Go to Switches and set to Disable Re-sampling, this will reduce Motion Blur.

Finally before you render the project, you should apply some Colour Correction.
I have an in-depth tutorial which you should read and watch about this topic here.
