Can I add a movie clip or photo as an inset in the corner of the main movie.

Any help much appreciated

Yes. Add a new track above the main one and enable the Track Motion button found in the box relating to the track in the Track List on the left hand side. With this you can position the "inset" image wherever you like and at what size you like. The "Help" button should help you further.

There are other ways but this is the one I prefer on the few occasions when I need to do this.

Welcome to the forums. Derek has a tutorial on Multi-Screen Videos, which you may find helpful. It works in the Vegas Pro and Movie Studio. It will guide you through the process that Richard describes in his post.
